What is it?

Based in the Rose Theatre Kingston, two doors down from where pioneering and seminal film maker Eadweard Muybridge spent his formative years, the Muybridge Short Film Festival will showcase the international best short films from new and young filmakers.

The Muybridge Short Film Festival aims to give new cinematic voices a platform and present the next generation of talent to the film industry.

This is the first Muybridge Short Film Festival at the Rose Theatre, Kingston, which is hopefully going to be a regular event on the calendar. Films from across the world have been considered and we hope that our final selection is one that will engage and enthral you.

We have focused our attention on films of less than 15 minutes duration but as we are also very keen to showcase young and new filmmakers we are also launching a ‘One Minute Wonders’ competition which will take place in July 2017. We welcome your short film from whatever genre and all will be given equal consideration.
